We don't have them here (illegal to import them I believe), but this may help you get started with some info.
http://aquaticfrogs.tripod.com/id13.html http://www.aquaticcommunity.com/frog...ndwarffrog.php I would advise that you search as much as possible and gather all the info. you can...there are many sites about ADF's (just type in African Dwarf Frog). I would personally keep them in their own tank, unless you can absolutely accommodate the water quality/habitat for both fish and frog. If you do happen to get one, I would definitely quarantine him for a few weeks anyway, in case he is harbouring a disease/fungus/parasite. They would be fun to have though.

in the land Down Under...Australia!Illegal to import into this country, due to the possibility of them getting into our waterways and eventually overpopulating, becoming a complete menace/nuisance (like the Cane Toad that was originally imported to solve an insect problem) or passing on disease to our own native species of frogs/amphibians, of which many are already endangered for one reason or another. The African Clawed Frog in particular (now illegal to import into Aust.), was brought into this country ages ago, it carried a fungus that wiped out many of our native frogs. |

FishFreak, it is my understanding that Australia has some of the toughest wildlife import laws in the world. Bernie can correct me if I'm wrong on this, but I do know that there is a rather sizeable list of marine fish and plecos that are illegal to import.

I believe you are probably 100% correct Brad
I do get very disheartened sometimes, because many of the species of fish you all talk about or own, which sound and look so beautiful, are not available to us in Aust. due to import regulations. ![]() Our regulations are the toughest, because Aust. has some of the most unique, rare and diverse animal/aquatic life in the world (of course other coutries do too) and we go to great lengths to preserve our native species from outside diseases etc., the same goes for our flora in Aust. FishFreak...I don't see any bearded dragons where I live, but you only have to go out into the bushland areas and they are roaming around. They do wander into people's backyards on occasion lol! |
